Tea that is made from the young leaves of Camellia Senensis plant and plucked before the leaves and buds are fully opened is called White Tea. Don’t think it’s a tea which has no color as it’s named White Tea. White tea has a pale yellow color and tastes naturally sweet. So, you don’t need to add any extra sweetness in it.

White tea does’t taste good as an iced tea, it has a delicate sweet flavor when it’s hot. Another great thing about its taste is that it doesn’t have any bitter taste like green tea has.

Only the unopened buds that covered by silvery white hairs can produce high quality white tea and that’s the reason it has been named White Tea.

Jasmine Silver Needle, Silver Needle, White Peony, White Symphony, White Blueberry, White Strawberry and White Eternel Spring are most popular types of white tea. Silver Needle and White Peony both are superior in quality and are considered as the best types of white tea.

 

China is not the only Asian country which produces high quality of White tea. Asian countries such as Srilanka, India, Nepal, Taiwan, Norther Thailand  and Norther Bangladesh also produce good quality of White tea. 

What health benefits does White tea has for you?

As white tea is produced from the natural plant, it’s naturally contains phytochemicals which are not essential nutrients for humans to sustain but can protect the human body against diseases. Because of less processing white tea also contains higher amounts of antioxidants and important nutrients than green tea does.

Drinking white tea regularly is a great way to obtain antioxidants that needed to protect your body’s cells, protein, DNA from getting damaged by free radicals. Free radicals are formed naturally in our bodies when we eat fried foods, breathe pollutes air, drink alcohol and also from smoking.

The answer is no. Because when it comes to weight loss green tea wins the battle against white tea. Let me explain it briefly- Increasing your metabolism is really necessary for enhancing your weight loss plan and green tea has that ability better than white tea.

You may have read on the net that white tea boost metabolism and if you did then you may be wondering why I am saying white tea is not as much effective as green tea in boosting metabolic rate as both tea contains same kind of natural elements and white tea contains those elements more than green tea does.

The reason is catechins can only boost metabolism at a great rate when it works with caffeine and as white tea contains less caffeine that’s why white tea proved to be less effective in increasing metabolic rate.

Well, that doesn’t mean that white tea can’t boost metabolism at all. Yeah it can but not as much as green tea does.

Not only from the point of boosting metabolism but also from the point of researches and studies that have been done to find out green and white teas effect on weight loss, green tea proved to be more effective than white tea.

So it would be better if you aid green tea rather than aiding white tea in your weight loss diet to accelerate your weight loss plan. But in providing health benefits white tea is considered as good as green tea and can be more beneficial than green tea in some cases as white tea is loaded with more antioxidants and nutrients than green tea.

How to prepare white tea

Preparation of white tea takes only 4 steps to complete. Use the following method to prepare your desired taste of white tea:

First, put some water into the tea pot ( the amount of water depend on how many cups of white tea you want to prepare).

Second, boil the water for 2-3 minutes and when it starts boiling, place 2 teaspoons of white tea leaves into the boiling water for each cup of tea.

 2 tablespoons of white tea leaves

Third, steep the tea leaves minimum 3 minutes or more until you get your preference taste and color. You should start to check it tastes after 3 minutes.

Fourth, when you get your desired taste and the leaves brings out the perfect color of white tea, it means your tea is ready to drink. Now, pour out your tea from the tea pot into a tea cup by using a strainer to remove the tea leaves from the tea.

Few more words before finishing: As white tea is loaded with antioxidants and essential nutrients which have positive effects on human health, so drinking 2-3 cups of white tea everyday will only do good for you.
